Users can find what they need faster. It will allow the OEMs, suppliers, printers, and customers of print to easily and consistently search and discover content assets, products and services, and ever-expanding print options.
The Alliance uses the Unified Printing Taxonomy in their:
- Membership Directory – for discoverability of company, equipment, and services listing and faceted search
- PRINTING United Expo – for exhibitor discoverability
- Media brands (e.g. Printing Impressions) – for content discoverability and recommendations
Industry wide adoption will create opportunities for machine learning and automated connections across the industry for speed of discoverability and new collaborative efforts.
